B2B Content Marketing Dream Team
Team

Mary Ellen Slayter
Mary Ellen leads new business development and strategy at Rep Cap. Before launching the agency 10 years ago, she served as director of content development at SmartBrief, as a columnist and financial editor at The Washington Post, and as a late-night server at Louie’s Cafe, where she learned the fine art of getting drunk LSU frat boys to pay their bill. She has a B.S. in agronomy from Louisiana State University, and an M.J. in journalism from the University of Maryland. She still can’t resist asking strangers about their first job.

Elizabeth Haight
Elizabeth leads the creative team at Rep Cap, translating big ideas into dynamic content with high attention to detail. She has been making videos from an early age — earning herself a full tuition scholarship to the Art Institute of Seattle, where she obtained her Associate of Applied Arts in Video Production. Her 20+ years of industry experience includes interning for MTV’s “The Real World,” pioneering streaming video technology at dot-com startups, art directing custom corporate photo shoots, creating Emmy award-winning broadcast television shows and filming with RED cameras. Elizabeth has also produced commercial videos for some of the world’s best-loved brands, including Milwaukee Tool and the Green Bay Packers. When not on her MacBook, she can be found in her local aerial dance studio twirling about on a trapeze.

James daSilva
James guides Rep Cap’s writing team in telling stories that spotlight our clients’ expertise and delight their target audiences. He started his career in newspapers before spending a decade managing the SmartBrief on Leadership newsletter and blog. James has a B.A. in communications and philosophy from Loyola University Maryland. Off-hours, he reviews The Onion’s print issue from 20 years ago, a project described by The Onion’s founding editor as “the most thorough and baffling expression of obsessive Onion fandom I’ve yet seen.”

Tyler Durrett
Tyler leads the web team at Rep Cap, with a focus on creating dazzling, performant and optimized websites for clients. He has more than 20 years of experience designing and building interactive experiences, including native and web apps, websites, data visualizations, and creative coding experiments. He holds a B.S. in computer science from Louisiana State University. When he’s not in Figma or VS Code, you might find him mountain biking, hiking, or scrounging for carbs.

Devon McGrath
Devon combines strategic thinking, creative problem-solving and her strong interpersonal skills to ensure her clients meet their goals – no matter how many follow-up emails she has to send you. A client once described her as “relentlessly cheerful,” a label we couldn’t really argue with. She has B.A.s in history and communication from Carthage College, and an M.A in Irish history from University College Cork. When Devon’s not geeking out on marketing strategy, you can find her exploring a new city, knitting, hiking, or setting up camp in the forests of Northern Minnesota.

Kristen Benford
Kristen exercises her passion for building relationships, love of writing and critical thinking skills to understand and address her clients’ most complex content marketing challenges. A graduate of the University of Missouri with a B.A. in English, she’s honed her client success expertise as an account manager and in-house marketer for publishing, financial services and franchise brands.

Jane Mitchell
Jane has dual roles at Rep Cap: She spends half her time managing finance and HR at Rep Cap and the other half writing content for our financial services clients. She has worked in public accounting, finance and mental health. She loves discovering new ways to solve problems using Microsoft Excel, but if she’s not making spreadsheets, she’s likely working on expanding LGBTQ+ equality. She has a B.A. in psychology from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and a B.S. in accounting from Louisiana State University. She lives in south Louisiana with her partner, 2 children, 2 dogs and a flock of rare-breed chickens.

Katie Pearl
Katie oversees the design of all of the beautiful white papers, reports, infographics, social media images and email newsletters Rep Cap produces. She began her career in magazine design, including serving as art director for MediaPost. She has a B.A. in English from Pomona College and has completed graduate coursework in publishing at Columbia University. Katie lives in the objectively best borough of NYC with her husband, their elementary schooler, and Ozymandias, King of Kings (their cat).

Michael Thibodeaux
Michael Thibodeaux serves as a multimedia producer at Rep Cap, specializing in podcasting, scriptwriting, A/V coaching and other bits of audio content. You can also find him behind the scenes during virtual events. He has a master’s in cognitive psychology from Queens College in New York and is still trying to come up with a good explanation for how this relates to his current career track, but he is sure that it’s probably useful. He’s passionate about all things related to audio and has amassed an impressive collection of keyboards and synthesizers over the years. He and Katie (obviously) do not agree on which borough reigns supreme.

Clare Chiappetta
Clare is responsible for translating complex concepts in HR and the future of work into engaging blogs, white papers, ebooks and more. She has a B.A. in liberal studies from Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University and an M.A. in English from Southeastern Louisiana University. She continues to explore the world through books, films and music — with a special interest in pro-wrestling and ‘80s horror. Test your most esoteric pop culture references on her.

Jacob Beauchamp
Jacob taps into his varied experiences in sales and digital marketing roles to produce engaging content that creates value for both readers and brands. He has a special knack for balancing the technical demands of SEO with the need to bring in original perspectives through thought leadership. He has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Houston-Downtown. When he’s not working, you can usually find him looking for an excuse to travel with his family or spend time outdoors.

Krista Savana
Krista makes sure all our high-minded strategic plans get turned into action items. Before joining Rep Cap, she spent more than 10 years working in health care administration, where she gained valuable skills in data management and project coordination. She is always looking for opportunities to show off her pivot table skills, but when she’s not sifting through data, she enjoys reading and solving cryptograms. Krista lives in North Louisiana (which we feel is an important distinction from south Louisiana) with her partner, three children and a turtle her kids lovingly named “Stick.”

Grace McGrath
Grace runs point on social media, influencer marketing and PR, while soaking up everything she can about design and video. She recently completed a B.S. in public communication and advocacy, with a minor in environmental studies, from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. She loves anything outdoors, ranging from squirrel-watching to backpacking across Minnesota. Ask her about her favorite surreal paintings of her cat.

Vanessa Orellana
Vanessa graduated from Ramapo College with a bachelor’s in Accounting and a minor in Visual Arts before she found her true passion in programming. She is a recent graduate of the Rutgers University Full Stack and Advanced Front End Bootcamps. Vanessa’s focus is on front-end development, where she combines her love of art and coding to build ambitious and visionary websites. Vanessa likes to practice Jiu-Jitsu, create art, travel (when she can), longboard, and take her dog Maia on fun hikes.
